Secondary School Opening Events and Primary Transition Dates
Birchwood High School
- Open evening: Thursday 3rd October 4:00pm - 7:30pm
- Principal's presentations: 4:30pm, 5:15pm, 6:00pm, 6:45pm
Forest Hall School
- Open evening: Thursday 26th September from 5:00pm - 8:00pm.
- Headteacher speeches: 6:00pm and 7:00pm.
Helena Romanes School
- Open evening: Wednesday 2nd October 2024 5:00pm - 8:00pm
- Headteacher talks will be held in the Main Hall at: 5:30pm, 6:30pm, 7:30pm
The secondary school will be open for tours and you will be able to talk with staff and students and take part in many activities across the curriculum.
You do not have to book to tour the school. However, booking will be required to attend the Headteacher's talks. To book a place at one of the talks, please click here.
The Hertfordshire and Essex High School and Science College
- Open evening: Thursday 19th September 5:30pm - 8:30pm
There is no need to book to attend the evening itself, but there are a limited number of spaces for the Executive Headteacher talks. If you would like to book to attend a talk please click here.
The Bishop's Stortford High School
Due to a delay in the completion of the new building at The Bishop's Stortford High School they have rescheduled their Open Evening for prospective parents, along with the dates for their aptitude tests to the following:
- Prospective parents' evening: Thursday 10th October 2024
- Sports aptitude testing: Thursday 17th October 2024
- Music aptitude testing: Friday 18th October 2024
The deadline for submitting the Supplementary Information Form to take part in aptitude testing is now 4pm on Sunday 13th October 2024 - late applications will not be accepted.

Local Events and Support
TouchPoint Community FoodShare in Takeley
Come and find us at the Old School Community Centre on Dunmow Road, Takeley. We have plenty of fresh supermarket surplus that would otherwise go to waste. We will be open 10-11am every Thursday. This is for everyone in our community. Please come along and bring a bag!
